Making Progress

In the past week, i've obtained a set of the '02 Civic EX rims, unfortunately I couldn't get a lesser quantity than 4. If push comes to shove, the sidecar rig trailer gets a new set of rims.

Additionally, i've obtained 2 rear spindle assemblies from a '93 Asüna Sunfire to start the fabrication of the sidecar suspension/wheel replacement. I'll likely be constructing a double a-arm suspension design utilising a 13" wheel, to minimise the amount of sidecar body modifications necessary to make a new suspension setup work.

For a 1999-2000 Honda Civic. Thanks to Bill McSheehy at hpsidecars.com for identifying this rim assembly, and providing a link to a potential supplier.

Rim bought and returned already.

Believe it to be a set for a 2002-2004ish Honda Civic Sedan. Looks similar in pattern but had many differences.

wheel photos for Honda rim assembly

What i need. '10' spoke, with center bearing cap with Honda logo, and removeable bolt ring cap, covering the bolt holes. Note in 1st darker photo, how bolt ring cap has the continuation of the spoke center, in styling. Note how the spokes attachment points on the rim have a pronounced flair, or 'knife edge' as it is machined. These bikes are mounting tire profiles of 175-205 on them, depending on the setup. I need the removeable bolt ring cap design for the basis of a motorcycle rear tire in this case, using the cap side of the hub as the mount point of a chain drive adapter (this portion of the bolt ring is recessed, flat, and flush with the bearing cap, or is easily machined to be, for mating of a chain drive.

homebrew vs factory

Two takes on a common theme.
